FAQ

(УКР) Як підготувати дитину до лікування в наркозі?

Sorry, this entry is only available in УКР.

Can I have an MRI if I have implants/crowns/braces/retainers?

Yes, doing an MRI examination with dental structures is safe for the patient’s health.

But there are a few points that should be taken into account:

Braces and retainers – do not come off, but can distort the image in the head area, depending on the area of the examination. However, most modern diagnostic centers use additional programs to suppress the signal from metal.

Dental implants (made of titanium) – are fully compatible with MRI, do not pose a danger, only small artifacts near the installation site are possible, but this does not significantly affect the result of the study.

Crowns – ceramic, zirconium and most metal ceramics do not interfere. Old prostheses made of ferromagnetic metals (rare) can cause problems.

If MRI is done for other areas of the body (for example, the spine or joints) – structures in the mouth do not affect the result.

You can get modern diagnostics at the MRI and X-ray diagnostic centers M24 (Kyiv) and EVOLVE (Bila Tserkva).

Be sure to inform the MRI radiologist about all your existing dental structures so that he can take into account possible artifacts.
